What is Self-Love anyway, and what exactly does it mean? Self-Love means loving and caring for yourself the way you love and care for others. It means holding space for yourself from a place of love, compassion, empathy, and non-judgment. It’s also doing healthy things that foster and nourish your mind, body, soul, and spirit.

Love for self is so important, yet many people don’t give to themselves the way they give to others. Why is that? Why do we not feel deserving or worthy of our own love? It can be many reasons. Perhaps we weren’t loved the way we needed to be as a child. As a result, we carried an unconscious belief that we are unworthy of happy and healthy love. Maybe it’s because we’ve given so much to others, we don’t know how to receive the very thing we give. Whatever the reason, it’s never too late to work on how you show up for yourself. It’s never too late to love and accept every beautiful piece of who you are.

First thing I want you to know, is that you are, without a doubt, worthy of the greatest love of all, and it’s up to you to give yourself what you innately need and desire. When you love and accept yourself, you build a strong sense of confidence that is unwavering and unstoppable. It’s beyond powerful. Believe me, I’ve been there, I’ve done the work, and now I’m here to share this with you. I’m also still a work in progress, as we all are, but for me, it’s not about perfection anymore, it’s about learning and growing as I go. It’s about being the best I can be in every moment and knowing my best is good enough. I’ve shared with you six ways you can manifest Self-Love and inner confidence starting today.

1. Get In Touch With Your Spiritual Side

We often lose connection with self over the years. We get sidetracked with life and unconsciously conform to what society expects of us. This results in people feeling overly stressed, anxious, and even depressed. The importance of having a connection to your spiritual side, whatever that means for you, is super important because at the very core, it’s the essence of who you are. It’s your truth.

To connect to your spiritual side, experiment with different things, such a new yoga practice or listening to positive meditations. I have created one to help you manifest Self-Love and confidence (find the meditation at the end of this article). You could also start journalling, which encourages you to explore your inner world and your emotions. The act of journalling itself is cathartic and healing. When you express your emotions through writing, you can release any stored pain and trauma. Feeling is healing.

A few other things you can do is spend some time in nature, listen to inspirational and motivational content, or read spiritual books that help guide you back home to your heart and soul.

When you explore your spirituality, it will take you on a journey of discovering things about yourself that you may have forgotten. It will also help you appreciate yourself more and empower you to express all parts of who you are.

Affirmation: Being myself involves no risks. It’s my ultimate truth, and I choose to honour my truth.

2. Consciously Consume

Nurturing your mind, body, and soul will not only grow your love for self, but it will also enhance your self-esteem and inner-confidence. Set an intention to be conscious and mindful about what you consume. And not just in regards to food and beverages, but what you consume in terms of friendships, relationships, and even your social media feeds. Any area of your life that is important to you, consciously consume and cultivate an environment that feels positive, healthy, and uplifting. Create an “energy vortex” that is aligned with you mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Be in complete control of what you expose yourself to and set healthy and necessary boundaries. Making mindful and intentional choices will empower you and it will remind you of your worth and value. Remember, this is your life and you get to choose what and who you allow into your life. You get to decide how you want to create and manifest your reality. Which is pretty cool once you realize that, you, have been creating your own reality all along. Now you can do it from a more aware and conscious place.

If you find you need time apart from certain people, or you need to filter what shows up on your newsfeed, then do it. And don’t feel guilty or shameful about it. You make the rules!

Manifest self love and confidence by making choices that feel good and right for because you are important. And your emotional and mental health is important. Never forget that.

Affirmation: I choose to consume things that nourish and nurture my mind, body, soul, and spirit.

3. Connect With Community

I’ll be honest with you, to me, community is everything. Think about how it was back in the day when tribes of people worked together. They hunted and cooked together and helped each other build their homes. They essentially cared for each other like their own family.

When it comes to how to manifest Self-Love and confidence through community, it’s a matter of connecting with like-minded people who lift you up and inspire you to be your best self. It’s connecting with people who get you and want to see you flourish and succeed. As a result of connecting with community, you will build your sense of love for self by being part of a supportive community and by offering love and kindness to others.

Connecting to community will make you feel like you’re a part of something, and isn’t that what we all want? Everyone desires to be loved and accepted for exactly who they are. Seek out groups or online communities of like-minded people who you resonate and align with. Or if there’s someone you feel drawn to and would like to have a “virtual” coffee or tea date with, send them a message!

Find your tribe and seek opportunities and experiences that will help you grow and evolve while on your journey of manifesting Self-Love and confidence.

Affirmation: I welcome people, things, and experiences that inspire me to heal and grow.

4. Engage In Something You Love

Engaging in something you love is an instant self-esteem and confidence booster. It allows you to express your creativity from a place of authenticity, love, and joy. You can manifest self-love and confidence by indulging in a hobby or activity that lights you up. As a result, you will boost your endorphins and bring out the best and most beautiful version of you.

Think of some hobbies and activities that bring you true pleasure and joy and engage in them as often as you can. Connect to your imagination and your inner child and embrace all that sets your soul on fire. The act of play, will evoke a feeling of lightness in your spirit and increase your level of Self-Love and inner confidence.

Affirmation: I engage in things that fuel me and bring joy to my heart and soul.

5. Forgive & Let Go

Many people hold on to the past and the moments that caused hurt, trauma, and pain. Holding on to “old emotions” create feelings of heaviness in your heart. In turn, it can cause you to have low self-esteem and self doubt. It can sometimes manifest into physical ailments and disease.

Although we may unconsciously do this as a way to protect ourselves, it really only holds us back from moving forward in life. It prevents us from experiencing inner peace and joy. When we give ourselves permission to forgive and let go, we release a heavy energy in our heart and soul. Forgiveness isn’t saying that what someone did to you was okay. It’s not condoning abusive or toxic behavior. Forgiveness is saying you choose to love yourself enough to no longer allow the past pain caused by others to take up space in your heart.

It’s really important to acknowledge your feelings so you can let them go. You can do this by journalling about experiences that caused you pain and trauma. Express how it made you feel, the effect it had on your life. Write out those unsaid conversations you never got to have. Let it all out and go deep if you can. This might take time, as it’s not an easy thing to do, so be sure to give yourself grace and compassion. Be gentle with yourself as you go through the process.

As a part of my Manifestation Coaching program, I encourage my clients to not only work on forgiveness for others, but forgiveness for oneself as well. We may not even be aware that we’re holding onto past guilt, regret, or shame. These emotions can be blocking you from your ability to manifest Self-Love and confidence.

Write a letter of forgiveness to yourself and let go of anything that no longer serves you.

Forgive yourself for what you didn’t know at the time.

After you have written your letters of forgiveness, either cut them up or burn them, in a safe way. This process allows you to let go of pain and trauma through the act of writing. It creates an energetic release which results in you feeling lighter in your body and heart. It really is a powerful experience. Set your soul free and find inner peace through forgiveness.

6. Make A List Love List

I bet if I asked you to list five things you don’t like about yourself, you could easily name fives things. However, if I asked you to list five things you love about yourself, you might have a difficult time answering. Interesting how that works.

So this is what I’m encouraging you to do. I want you to make a love list of every single thing you like/love about yourself. Write it ALL out. Don’t be shy! Creating this list will help you recognize your wonderful qualities and characteristics. It will help you see your own unique gifts, talents, and awesome abilities.

This isn’t about being vain, or feeding your ego, it’s seeing yourself for the beautiful soul you are. It’s loving and embracing what makes you, you. You can manifest Self-Love and confidence by acknowledging the beauty within you. By accepting every unique piece of who you are.

Write out your love list and place where you can see it every single day. Read it over anytime you’re feeling low, or even when you’re feeling great. It will enhance your state and elevate your energy.
